V. J. Chambers likes bad boys, but she likes them to be actual bad boys, not misunderstood weaklings who cover up their emotional scars with a thin veneer of pretend bad-boy-ness.

She likes to tackle difficult philosophical questions. She likes to push fiction to the edge, to go just a little farther.

She writes stories about difficult people living difficult lives in difficult situations. Usually, there’s magic. Or monsters. Or space. Or gun fights. A lot of times, there’s also L-O-V-E. (Or at least uncomfortable conversations about sex.)

She’s the author of the Jason and Azazel series and many other stories for teens and adults. She lives in Shepherdstown, WV with her boyfriend Aaron and their cat.

    Yay, thanks, Magdalena! I think you're the first Swede that I know of that's read the books. :)

    (Okay, um, do people in Sweden actually refer to themselves as Swedes? Probably not. I guess you'd refer to yourselves as some Swedish word. Anyway, hope I'm not sounding like a ridiculously stupid American.)

    what i loved about them is that azazel still loves jason after it all

      Um, of course I do. Because I wrote the book, and I think it's fabulous. :)

      It's really your call.

      As for who she ends up with by the end of this trilogy, even I don't know that. I haven't written the other books yet.

    You're really amazing!! I started reading the "Stillness In The Air" now and I'm little sad 'cos Azazel doesn't love Jason anymore, did it had to be that way, it was so perfect?!

    So, I found your book, "breathless" over the christmas holiday, because I wanted free books for my kindle, and I read it! One of the best books i have ever read! I haven't had a chance to read the other ones yet :( but, such is life!

    How is it that you know so much about the Sarasota/Bradenton area living in WV? It's my favorite area in FL. I live on the Treasure Coast, but wish I lived in that area. Just Curious.

      I lived there for two years, back in '04 and '05, I think. I worked at Florida Studio Theatre in the box office. I got sick of all the old people and came back home. :)

    first, let me say, you are an excellent writer and i've been passing your name along! second, i might not be looking hard enough, but do you have a potential release date for the final book of the J & A trilogy? and finally, keep it up :-)

      Thanks so much! No, I haven't got anything definite on the last book yet. I just finished up the first draft of the first book in a new trilogy, unrelated to J&A, and I have some other projects to finish up as well. I'd say the earliest I might get to it would be later this year, meaning it might be out sometime early next year. At the latest, fall of next year. We'll see when inspiration strikes.

(sorry there chum) But I just finished reading your Jason and Azazel trilogy and I am so happy that you left all three of them for free! I had to turn off my ereader and read it online because i couldn't turn the pages any kind of fast enough. thanks for writing the way i think :)

Anyway, scroll up to the top of this page, click the Jason and Azazel link, and the other two books are already there. The third will be on sale at the beginning of January, and will start serializing midmonth.

    LOL I was unaware that breathless was part of a trilogy until I I started book 2 yesterday evening and had to switch to the computer! I curse my self for having a jerky rolley mouse that keeps the words from flowing smoothly as I click. excuse me while I inhale the second trilogy :) awesome work!
