Thank you so much, Tia Marie!!!
I just finished,I was amazing can't wait for whats to come
Yay! Thank you.
A friend just recently put me on to these books cause she thought they would interest me, and she was right. Great work! Can't wait to read more in the future.
Thanks! It's always cool to see a guy lurking about.
OMG!!!!! have you any idea how mucho i am loving you right now?????? hahhaha
i read the first trilogy last year, and you better believe me i loved it so much that no matter how many books i had read after those, i remember jason and azazel all the time, i cried, i felt, that says everything, i felt every chapter on my heart, on my soul, and they are with me always. that it´s why i was coming to your page, to see if there was eanything new, and look at that!!! you have made me really really happy!!! ok, i´m gonna stop writting and start reading, thank you sooo much!! wish you the best!!
I love the Jason and Azazel Trilogy! That’s kind of obvious, I guess. I tried to tell my friends about the books but I had to stop because I was getting way too excited. Also, I normally don’t like thrillers, but this is probably one of my favorite series. I can identify with Azazel, even though I’ve never killed anyone. But that’s not really what it’s about… Anyway I really like the Apocalypse trilogy so far and when I was reading it I almost started hyperventilating. It was really exciting. The weird thing is, though, in the J & A trilogy I wanted Azazel to leave Jason but when she did I was actually really devastated.
You’re a really great writer, you thought of things I never would have, so good job and keep up the good work!
You're the first person to say they wanted Azazel to leave Jason! I was beginning to wonder if everyone on earth thought it was cool to kill people and smile about it.
Thanks for reading and recommending the book. I appreciate it!
i don´t care if it´s insane, i want azazel and jason together no matter what, can you give me that please????? normal relationchips are boring relationchips (it´s just a joke…sort of…) god, i swear all i can think about is kieran and polly out of the picture and lots and lots of good….moments between them…
Every chapter gets better, btw!!! congratulations!!!
Jason & Azazel triology is simply amazing. It was full of suspence n gripped myh attention d whole tym. I stop myhslef from reading until i finished :D reaaaly interesting and captivating. Great job V.J chamber. Keeep those awesome bookz coming. and I cant wait to read stillness in air
I have to say that I am very mad at myself! I never start reading a series that isn't already finished, because it just drives me insane not to know what happens. When I saw that Breathless, Trembling , and Tortured were a trilogy I read all three in a matter of two days. They were so good and well written. Then I found out that you are writing a second trilogy about J&A and found Stillness. I contemplated not reading it until the last two are written, but of course I couldn't. I read it in three hours this morning. I thought it was a great addition to the series, and I guess I am glad that I read them even though the whole series isn't finished yet. I think your books have the best mix of an awesome female protagonist, romance, history, and blood and guts. I think I have found a new favorite author in you V.J., and I'm a huge Amanda Hocking fan, so that is definitely saying something! I can't wait until the next two books come out!
Thanks Danielle. That's quite a compliment. Now, if only I could summon Amanda Hocking's ability to write super freaking fast and get Between drafted. (I am essentially living my life in extreme envy of Amanda Hocking right now. )
Anyway, I am excited about writing more J&A stuff. I just need twenty-five measly more scenes. Thanks for this comment. You really made my day.
Amanda does seem to crank them out doesn't she? I think taking your time and getting it right is the most important thing. Your books have such wonderful depth, excellent character development, and great description of scenes. I can see why your books may take a little longer to write. The plots are so intricately woven and seem very well researched. I always feel I am with J & A wherever they are.
It's probably good you don't crank them out as fast because my 3 and 5 year olds have been fending for themselves while I read all of your books over the last few days!
Thanks for commenting back. I love that Indie authors really take their fans seriously. It makes us feel more connected to your books. If you ever need anyone to preread anything for you I'm your girl! I was an English teacher before staying home with my kids, so now I am kind of bored!!
This is a really awesome comment. You are making me blush.
(Also, I feel guilty for not writing Between yet. I really want to. I swear. I just don't know what happens in the middle of the book!)
I have not had the chance to read any other books by you yet but I really did enjoy Little Sister. And I will defiantley be reading more books.
I will let you know when your interview gets put on live on Black Rose Reviews.
cant wait for between heavens of storm Chambers i'm so excited! basicly when is it due?
May I say its 2:51am and I just finished the stillness and I’m craving for more I couldn’t stop reading. When I started the first trilogy and the first time you introduced Jason I was reminded of my biggest crush ever and after that its like I couldn’t stop. I started the day before yesterday when I a friend told me about it at school I went to sleep at 3 then read when I got home and I just finished the last book IM DYING FOR MORE!!!!!!!!! Love you and thanks for such amazing writting!
I must say, You are a fantastic writer. I have been so wrapped up in the Jason&Azazel love story that when you fast-forwarded to the future and broke them up, I was very upset. But now that I finished reading Stillness in the Air, I must admit, it was a great addition. I love all of your books, however Stillness in the Air made me a bit sad, I didn't want Azazel to become a sadistic tyrant, but it's alright. And as for the comments that were being said before, ignore those. The fact that you can write these stories and keep it going is more than a blessing enough. I for one know how difficult it can be to write a book, none the less 4 books and 2 more coming. You have a wicked mind V.J and I hope it keeps coming up with these crazy plots you have. I'll be buying your books soon because I just can't get enough. You are one of the only authors to keep me up till 4 or 5 am because I can't stop reading. And that's saying something. Thank you so much and keep it up(:
Thank YOU so much for this comment and for reading my books.
Has anyone heard anything about the approaching Twilight 3D movie I saw an interview with Robert Pattinson saying that he was hoping that the film company were going to release a statement soon…can’t wait for this!
Ok so I just read from breathless to the stillness in 2 days, seriously the series is amazing, I couldn't put it down so naturally I need to know when the next book is coming out…I can hardly wait…I am an aspiring author and I am working on something now, you are inspiring, and all of your ideas are so fresh and new, it is so nice to read these perfect books, bc it leaves you thinking this could maybe happen…thanks for all your hard work, and I don't mean to nag, I am just curious if you have a round about date set to publish the next book in the series?
Nothing's set in stone yet, but it should be sometime this summer.
the best story ever…….can't wait till the next book…….I hope there will be a movie based in this story soon…….it would be great……♥♥♥
This is ducky reportage. My favorite pass on was spot himself mentioned that common need to cherry-pick their nuclear fission big business abridgement advance opportunities. himself think this is by what name smooth. This design is steller! You most certainly know how to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
Great post.I’m enjoy it.Thank you!
Took me time to learn all the feedback, however I actually enjoyed the article. It proved to be very useful to me and I am certain to all the commenters right here! It’s at all times nice when you can not only be informed, but in addition engaged! I am sure you had joy penning this article. Anyway, in my language, there are usually not a lot good supply like this.
Oh v.j. soooo good you decided to go on with A & J, last time i stop by, you were about to publish something, whar happen to that? Hope everything turn out ok for you sweetheart, love you forever for these books, i'm still your (oldest, shhhh) and biggest fan, write you soon
Hey deby. I have eleven ebooks available currently. If you click the Books link above, you can find all of them. I've published like four or five books this year, so I'm not sure which you're talking about, but, yep.
Just finished "Between the Heaves of Storm" and let me just say that you have out done yourself. It was the best book of the series. Wow. I didn't know how you where going to get those two on "talking" terms again but man, did you pull it off. The ending was a little heartbreaking that after all of that he still can not forgive himself, but yeah, I get it.
I CAN NOT wait for the next book. Seriously, great great writing.
Thanks! You're a sweetheart.
There's a spoiler friendly discussion on here too, if you want to talk more openly about elements of the book that others might not have read yet: http://www.vjchambers.com/jason-and-azazel/spoile…
Seriously, New Fan here.
First of all, it must be really crowded in that head of yours VJ! and 2nd:"Wow"
I literally finshed "Between the Heaves of Storm" minutes ago…………some very clever twists…….the events do have me wondering about that amulet of Micheala's that was given to Azazel back in "Breathless"……….
Just wanted to stop by and see if you were gathering your creativity, invoking the "Muse" so to speak………….and to let you know you can count on us as Amazon.com "Autobuy" fans (my daughter and I)…………Great Job…Keep it up!
P.S. There are alot of us romance junkies out here reading a book a day! ( no pressure) "really"
Thanks so, so much Teresa. (Sometimes I worry about alienating romance fans with all my blood and guts and weird supernatural stuff.)
You know, i had completely forgotten about that necklace. (runs off to add the necklace to the list of foreshadowing in the other books that have to be tied up in the final book.)
I do keep thinking about Jason and Azazel and the last book, but I haven't gotten any serious planning done. Sometimes I wonder if I'm dragging my feet on it because I really don't want to say goodbye to these characters yet.
Anyway, your comments mean a lot to me.
P.S. I've written five other books and four other novellas/short stories not related to the series. (no pressure…lol.
Hahaha…………….Funny VJ, …..Alienating romance fans?………..NEVER…… Jason & Azazel are much more than just blood & gore…….***PROOF=your Amazon reviewers look alot like loyal HEA readers to me. …key words being (HEA)"Just sayin"
Ahhhh……………but it's never goodbye…..just "Until we read it again" *Thank God for Kindle for Android* 501 books and growing go with all 5 members of my family….everywhere…everyday. …………………….I have only deleted ONE book..(He killed off my beloved Hero at the end(tragically) left fans who said they were left so empty….)……………………………………..I knew I could never read that one again. and yet this coming from someone who reads "Wuthering Heights" every year.
I'm sure I speak for many of your fans when I beg you……."Please don't wait too long to finish their story…………because pretty soon little "Chance" will be voicing his need for a spin-off!"
P.S.S. * My pleasure, no pressure* I'm reading one of your those other's as we speak. "Brighter"
Ha! We are two of a kind, then. I also read Wuthering Heights every year. Although, I do have to say it's not much for an HEA…well, for little Cathy and Hareton, I suppose, but I do always feel bad for basically everyone else. Oh, wait. I just reread what you wrote. You weren't saying it had an HEA after all.
Actually, I'm not an enormous fan of the way that book ended, I must say. But I can't really imagine what else she could have done. Overall, I just can't get enough of the delicious way I love and hate Heathcliff all at the same time.
BTW, do you read any Anne Stuart romances? I L-O-V-E her.
And you're reading my mind with this spin-off Chance business.
I’m dying here! I just read all 5 books in a little over 2 days and I can’t wait to see how it all ends!
I am addicted to Jason and Azazel!!!When will the third apocalypse book be released?
Can't wait for the third book in the Apocalype trilogy! I read the other five in quick succession and now I am left longing.
I'm working on it right now, actually.
These 5 books rocked. I have read them in @ 5 days on my nook, i am addicted! Please help me and finish jason ans azazel’s story, i can’t wait! I was very suprised how much i loved these books, i found them by getting the first book free but was so addicted i found the rest after finishing the first book in one night. I love reading and i will be searching for more of your books!
When is the next apocalypse book due?
The first draft is complete. It's in edits. I expect to have it ready some time in January.
I just read all five books out on Jason and Azazel, and I must say I am very intrigued by the characters as well as the storyline. At times I was surprised that the more explicit violence did not turn me off, but actually felt like the characters’ reaction to their own actions, the self-doubt and internal torment made more sense after going through the graphic descriptions. Very suspenseful writing, intricate characters and relationships – very well done!! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the final chapter in their story…
It's off with beta readers right now, and should be ready in early January.
Make sure you're subscribed to my email list (upper right hand of this page) if you want updates.
And thanks for your comment! I do think the books are complicated in a lot of ways. Sometimes the characters make me shudder.
Done – thanks for the tip. And I don’t think there is anything wrong with complexity, just has to be well executed – and I think you have done that well. Definitely not a boring minute!
When is the last book going to be coming out

You did it again, V.J! I’m absolutely speechless! I’m in a glass case of emotion after I read the fifth book. This is hands down my second favorite series after the Hunger Games! And that’s saying A LOT! I can’t wait for the final book in Jan
Keep it up, V.J! You have my unwavering support <3
Whoa. That's quite a compliment. Thanks so much.
I also adore The Hunger Games.
I can't wait for you guys to read the last book.
Love the books.. Cant wait for the next one… By the way when will that be? Lol
Sometime in January.

Thanks for reading!!
I cannot wrap my head around why this is not on a best seller’s list. I finished all 5 books within 3 days. I bathed only once, consumed a whole carton of Ben&Jerry’s Red Velvet Cake, and forgot to finish my admission paper. But hell, it was so fucking worth it!! I’m definitely spreading the word about this trilogy/saga and I already convinced 6 of my friends to read the books!
I’m starting to re-read Breathless during smoke breaks at work and I’ll continue to do so until a movie comes out! Truly, a wonderful work of art!!! Congrats!!!
P.S. Are you from West Virginia? Cuz I am!
As a matter of fact, I am. I live in Shepherdstown, WV, which is in the eastern panhandle, about an hour from D.C., but I grew up in Romney, WV–and that's the town Bramford is based on. What part of WV are you from? (I haven't been all over the state–farthest south I've been is Hurricane, farthest east is Morgantown.)
Thank you so much for your kind words. Breathless has been up and down on Amazon lists for about a year now, but it's never really had any breakaway exposure. Yet, anyway. I think it has trouble finding its audience. And the series is a tad tough for some people to take, especially if they're religious.
Yay! I'm so glad you are telling your friends, and I hope they like it too. And if you know any big shot movie producers or directors, I'm definitely interested.
I absolutely loved the series (so far). When does the next book come out? I have to admit I'm a bit sad Azazel and Jason never got back together and learned how to control the powers. But who knows what will happen next!!? Are you planning to write anymore about them after the 3rd apololypse book?
The last book should be ready in early January.
If you'd like to get an emails about my new releases, etc, you can subscribe to my email list. Scroll down the footer and put in your info.
I don't think there will be any more Jason and Azazel books, but I did have an idea for a collection of short stories that fit within the events of the series. We'll see if that materializes.
Thanks for your comment!!
God, I love these books!!!! I fell in love with Kieran although he turned out to be a total ass. How can he leave little Chance?! I loved their father-to-son connection. But he had to eventually go back to Jason, I guess, eventhough I disapprove. But anyways, call me crazy, but I still want Jason and Azazel to work it out, but for some reason, I highly doubt that will happen… a Romeo and Juliet-esque in the midst, maybe? I guess I’ll just have to find out.
But anyways, I was thinking about the character’s appearances and I was wondering how did you picture them? Like, what celebrity do you think Azazel and Jason closely resemble, appearance wise. Personally, I pictured Azazel kinda like Kaya Scodelario from Skins and Jason…idk… Taylor Lautner’s body but a bit more slender and taller and his face… unimaginably gorgeous with a hint of Native. Kinda of like the guy in Supernatural (I forgot what his name was), but ya, that’s my two cents…I should stop rambling now…
Anywho! I just wanted to say you are a marvelous writer and I’m definitely interested in reading more of your work! Actually, I’m going to begin reading Death Girl this weekend! I’m excited! Also, have you written any other trilogies? Any works in progress? I’m looking forward to more of your work!
For me, Jason will always look like Tom Sturridge, and I think I did a Kieran wallpaper, with Travis Fimmel as him… I have no idea what Azazel looks like, although a girl named Jackie did some banners a few years back with Michelle Trachtenberg–who's probably too old now. I did like that.
Thanks for your comment!!! And yes, I've got a bunch of other books. I'm working on another trilogy right now called The Toil and Trouble Trilogy, which is about the daughter of a magical mob boss and her fight against these zombie/werewolf type things (I call them berserkers). I'm going to be doing a free promotion for the first book sometime in early January, so you may want to hold off until then. I'm writing the second book now.
If you're not already, subscribe to my email list to be in the know! (Scroll down–it's in the footer.)
I just finish reading the Last Onset and…I don’t know what to say…which is good? In the beginning I was hyperventalting and almost died of excitement. Throughout the reading I was at the edge of my seat and chewing my nails to the bone. At the end, I was an emotional wreck, I kept thinking ‘Is Azazel going to kill Jason? Are they finally gonna live normal lives? Are they going to have that happy ever after ending?’ Which they sort of did, but I was kinda sad that Jason never got to see his son again, which is the sacrifice, but… ugh, I just did not want it to end :’(
But it is not The Never Ending Story, is it? Anyways I LOVE Bonnie and Clyde reference. I always thought of them like that. Its clever. I want to say so much, but I think I’ll do an Amazon review better (for the first time!) That’s how good it is!
Well, thanks VJ, for giving us this wonderful series and exploring the craziness of Jason and Azazel, who found redemption and eternal peace and the meaning of love through all the chaos. Its beautiful. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment. It means so much to me.
And I need to get my butt in gear and make a spoilers thread for That Last Onset for people who want to discuss it.
I happened apon your web site by accident a few yrs ago and started to read Breathless . I got so caught up in their story that I couldn't wait for you to post new chapters so I bought it. By the end I was hooked. So I would check to see when you would release the next and bought Trembling and Tortured after that. I thought that was the end of there story and I must admit I hadn't been to your web site in a while .I checked back right befor the holiday break and was surprised to see you were doing Apocalypse Trilogy .So I read The Stillness in the Air on your site and immediately bought Between the Heaves of Storm and finished in two days. I could wait for That Last Onset and was in ahhed by the ending . Thank you for telling Jason and Azazels' story . I laughed and cried (mostly cried) with them and came to love and hate (mostly love) both of them at times. Thanks again for telling their story.
Thanks so much for reading! It's cool to see people who've been keeping up with the books since the beginning.
I hardly comment, but after reading a few of the responses on this page Jason and Azazel. I do have 2 questions for you if it’s okay. Could it be only me or does it appear like a few of the responses appear as if they are written by brain dead people? And, if you are posting at additional online social sites, I’d like to follow you. Could you post a list of the complete urls of all your shared sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
There may be some spam that I never picked up on. Bots always sound brain dead. I'll comb through it again at some point and try to trim them out.
If you scroll all the way up to the top of the page, on the bar across the top, on the left hand side, you should see some little icons for facebook and twitter.
Thanks for reading!
i just finished the last book and it broke my heart when Azazel said ” I knew I would never have kids with you”. So I was wondering is this it for them or maybe in the future will there be more?
At this time, I don't have any plans for writing anymore J&A books.
It broke my heart too.
See? Haha, i think you have created an epic story that seriously hooks the reader……. Book 7 could be huge
Wow! Jason and Azazel are my obsession! These are great books and recommendation-worthy. In fact, I’m going to share this for my book club discussion. Amazing. I cannot compliment it enough. Bravo, V.J., bravo! Have you ever considered doing a quick little playlist for Jason and Azazel? Make a post about what songs you think fits the mood of the books and the couple in general? I would love that!
Thanks so much!
There are actually playlists for each of the original trilogy of books. If you click on the links above for Breathless, Trembling, and Tortured and scroll down, there's a popout player from playlist.com.
However, I made those playlists years ago, and half the links are probably crap at this point.
Hi there stumbled on your books other day and completely became immersed in the Jason and azazel trilogy i can’t put them down I just want to make sure Im not missing a book I just finished tortured and I started the stillness in the air am I missing a book ? It seems like new people are involved and I just don’t want to ruin the story by reading this and finding I missed one in between thanks so much keep up the awesome work
Nope. You're not missing a book. There's a four year lag between the the two trilogies. All will be explained in flashbacks.
thanks for your comment!!
I just started reading Breathless at about 10 tonight, Just finished the book at 4 this morning, I could not put it down. It is by far one of the best books I have ever read and can;t wait to read the next one!
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks so much for your kind words.
I just finished that last onset I love Jason and Azazel. But I was wondering will you ever write any more about them. Could they ever wake up?
Right now, I’ve got no plans to write anymore J&A books. But never say never, right?
Someday I might get another idea for them. We shall see.
I started the second book Trembling last night and was very surprised to find out that the location of the book was in Bradenton, FL! Where I am currently sitting at my desk. And they went to school at Bayshore Highschool, where I graduated from. And Azazel worked at the Regal Cinemas on Cortez where I go to see Movies! Haha, how fun! Im curious as to what made you decide on Bradenton?
I actually lived in Bradenton for about six months and the Sarasota area for about two years total.
I’m sure Bayshore is nothing like the school in the book. I mostly made that stuff up. But I definitely spend some time cruising around Cortez.
Haha, I was comparing all of my old teachers to Mr. Sutherland.. like, Could it be So and So.. haha.
Anyway, Thanks for replying!
Have you heard the song “Love, Love, Love” by Of Monsters and Men? .. It sort of makes me think of Jason and Azazel In The Stillness in the Air.
Waited to respond until I got a chance to listen to the song. I think it’s perfect. If this were back in the days when myspace used to mean something, I’d definitely change my jason and azazel page to this song. As it is, I’m not sure I remember the password.
Awesome! Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men makes me think of the whole Jason and Azazel series too. Good stuff!
I started reading Breathless yeas ago on Facebook and I lost my internet and by the time I got back on I couldnt find the chapters I missed. I was wicked bummed until I just recently bought a Nook and found them on there. I have bought and read both trilogies in a little over a week. I just finished The Last Onset not even 10 minutes ago and I am so heartbroken that its over. They are definately books that I will read over and over again in the future. I want to say thank u for writing all six books, it was an amazing break from reality to hang out with Jason and Zaza for a week. You are an amazing author and I can’t wait to read more of your work. Is there anything that you have written that is similar to Jason and Azazel’s story? I’m a sucker for a romance story with a great plot!
Thanks so much!!
Um… in the anti-hero vein, I’d say The Toil and Trouble Trilogy is the most similar. You can get the first book free if you subscribe to my update list.
For romance, I’d recommend Release, which is actually on an Amazon exclusive run right now, and I know you said you had a nook. It will be back up and available everywhere in September.
Thanks again for reading my books and for your kind words.
i really enjoyed this series, i wish there were more about jason and azazel, i really wanted them to wake up:(
Thanks Cass! For now, I think I’m done with these two, but never say never.
I just finished both J&A trilogies. Couldn’t put my iPad down until it was over. Great series! I can’t wait to check out more of your work!
I love these books!!! They are sooo much better than the Twilight series!!! Love AND Thriller!! This book is irresistible to read!!!!!
I’m really glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for reading.
Wow Twilight is like a blip compared to tidal wave that is Jason & Azazel!
this is much better than twilight! omg! Been into this J&A! TRILOGIES! reminds me of me and my boyfriend really! It’s like you see right through me V.J.! Chambers
I read the 1st Twilight and wasn’t that impressed. Didn’t read anymore.
OMG! I want to scream from a mountaintop how much I love this series! Read it in 30 hrs straight. Thank God I could go from 1 to another. Amazing!
Yay. Thank you!
I have just completed reading all the 7 books on J&A… u r truly an amazing and gifted writer. Looking forward to book no. 8
Wish you best of luck for your future books… Now planning to read other books written by you.
Thanks so much!!
absolutely love J&A. my house is a mess, there’s dishes in the sink, fed my kids hotdogs and haven’t done my laundry til I finished the 1st trilogy. looking forward to the rest of your books but i gotta do my chores first before i read it LOL
Ha! And this is what’s happening to me right now, except I’m so into the book I’m writing, I’m working from the minute I get up until I go to sleep. So, it’s good to know that I entertain other people as much as I do myself, I suppose. Thanks for reading!!
Hi! You’ve become my favorite author ever since reading Breathless. But there was a phrase from the Apocalypse trilogy that I didn’t understand: She told me to save her seconds? Can you please explain that for me? Thanks
Sorry. I just did a search for “save her seconds” in the Apocalypse trilogy file, and MS Word couldn’t find the phrase. I don’t have any memory of using it? Maybe if you were a little more specific?
I remember using it in Trembling, however, when Azazel was passed out in a tent, and a guy said it Jason. He meant, “I’ll have sex with the drunk, passed-out girl after you’re done having sex with her.”
Maybe that’s what you were thinking of?
Oh, and thanks for saying I was your favorite author! You are so sweet.
And get a free ebook: The Toil and Trouble Trilogy, Book One.
Read my advice on how to do it here.
Vote in my poll and tell me how you heard about me!
